Marc Jacobs Pop-Up Shop: Leave Your Money Home

During Fashion Week an extra special pop-up shop will be opening in Soho, The Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop.  At this particular store, no dollars will be needed so leave your cash at home.  How will you pay you ask.  You will pay by using your social media accounts.  Yes, you didn't read that incorrectly.  According to what I read, "transactions will be based solely on a customer's use of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook."  The hashtag that will be used is #MJDaisyChain. The shop will also be having competitions to increase the amount of social impact, where Marc Jacobs' accessories will be given away throughout the day.  A great point to note:  "The shoppers with the most creative posts will be entered to win larger-ticket fashion and accessory items."  For those of you lucky enough to check it out, the store is located in Soho at 462 West Broadway and opens on February 7th - February 9th.  The stores hours are 11-7.  Happy Tweeting everyone!   ~J

I love when I discover new designers... well, new to me anyway! I know immediately when I see a piece that I love.  I recently came across Martine Ali on Instagram.  She or her social media person commented on a photo that I had posted.  Because of the comment I was interested in seeing her work.  Well to tell you I was impressed is an understatement!  I LOVED her work and I hope I am lucky enough to own a piece one day.  The collection truly is wearable art.  Check out more at Martine Ali.  New pieces will be added soon so be on the lookout!  ~J

Mark your calendars everyone~
 February 9th Target launches its next designer collaboration featuring Peter Pilotto.  Target is partnering with the London-based label on an exclusive capsule collection which will feature women's ready-to-wear, accessories and swim. The Peter Pilotto brand is designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.  The pair is known for their colorful and textured prints.  As stated on the Target website:  "Peter Pilotto for Target exemplifies the designers' distinct aesthetic, combining hyper-real digital prints in striking blues and greens and warm reds and oranges." For all my fashionista friends that live out of the USA and can't head down to their local store... don't despair.  Target is also partnering with NET-A-PORTER.com, the world's premier online luxury retailer, to reach an international audience and offer global fans of Peter Pilotto an assortment of the limited-edition Target collection.  Another great offering with this collection is it won't break your bank.  Most items will be under $60.  I'm hoping that with two websites offering items that I will have better luck than I did with the Phillip Lim collection!  Happy Shopping!!  ~J

The Golden Globes offered us some gorgeous fashions and of course... some fashion disasters.

My favorite looks of the night:

 Amy Adams in Valentino Haute Couture was simply elegant with that deep-plunging neckline.

Olivia Wilde did not disappoint in her beautiful emerald-green Gucci gown . Such a stunner, baby bump and all. I think Drew Barrymore's stylist should have taken some tips.

I thought Sofia Vergara looked amazing in her black Zac Posen ball gown. I loved the turquoise-colored flower statement necklace by Lorraine Schwartz. 

Uma Thurman looked incredible with her high-neck, body-hugging, Atelier Versace Swarovski- embroidered gown.  

One of the hottest looks of the night has to go to Margot Robbie. I loved this white column Gucci gown  paired with those emerald green peep-toe pumps... amazing.

 Kelly Osbourne looked stunning in her Escada dress.

Lupita Nyong'o was red hot in her off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown.

Maria Menounos wore Max Azria Atelier and was pretty in pink. 

Cate Blanchette looked elegant in her black lace and tulle Armani gown.

Miley And Marc For Spring 2014

Miley Cyrus will be the face for Marc Jacobs Spring/2014 advertising campaign.

Miley in the photos below is almost unrecognizable with her darkened hair.

As reported in WWD she was photographed by David Sims alongside models Natalie Westling and Esmerelda Seay Reynolds. Marc Jacobs describes the campaign as "sulky and broody." Of Cyrus, Jacobs said, "We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything. There's nothing I don't like about her. She is just genuine and very natural." 

**Although Miley has been everywhere lately and I haven't been a fan of her crazy tongue-swagging antics, I actually really like her in this Marc Jacobs campaign... Thoughts?  ~J
