3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Cassidy and I were really excited for the release of the 3.1 Phillip Lim line at Target.  She was actually home and we were going to be able to shop it together!  Imagine our surprise when we got to the store and they had sold everything that they had in stock. Not a shirt, skirt or purse left. How could this be possible... such a bummer. We were disappointed and really didn't feel like driving all over god's creation just to track down a purse or sweatshirt. I was thinking that if our store sold out, that all of the other stores must have sold out.  I knew that there was always Ebay, but who wants to pay those ridiculous prices.  A couple of nights ago I was out shopping at a Target in another town.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted a Phillip Lim display!  It was definitely slim pickins' but look what I was able to score~

Ok... I realize it's only a tee shirt but it's better than nothing!?! ~J

THE DECONSTRUCTED KNOTTED UPDO

I have been feeling lately like my hair is too long and I need a fun new way to put it up. Celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek crafted this gorgeous, vertical tri-bun on Maria Bello by first creating a tousled texture, using leave-in conditioner and a styling spray.
After Maria's hair was scrunched and dried, Hanousek sectioned it out, pulling her hair into three small, tight ponytails in a straight line. He says, "Next, take the top hair and loosely gather into the last ponytail. You want to keep height and texture on top." Hanousek proceeded to tie the first two ponytails together, criss-crossing the ends underneath, and fastening with bobby pins. Finally, he divided the hair of the last two ponytails, tied them into knots, and pinned them. It sounds like a complicated process, but really, it's just a series of knots — if you can handle one knot, we have faith that you can master this as well.  I love this updo and can't wait to try it on myself or Cassidy. It sounds easy enough but I bet it won't look anything like the picture! I will keep you posted after I try!  ~ Jennifer

Homeland Season 3: Next on Episode 1

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON

I am counting down the days until Sunday when my favorite show, Homeland, returns. I highly recommend this show.  It is one of the best shows on TV... hands down. Every episode is full of drama, unanswered questions and will leave you wanting more. If you want to catch up on Homeland, the last 2 seasons are available On Demand. The new season begins on Sunday, September 29 at 9pm on Showtime.

Carrie and Saul have a heated discussion.

EMMY AWARD FASHIONS 2013

THE HITS AND MISSES

The Emmy Awards have come and gone. I am a couple days late but couldn't wait to address the topic of the nights fashion.  As always at awards shows, there were the dresses that "wooed us" and the dresses that "did you see yourself in the mirror before you left the house?"  I was very disappointed in this years' Emmy gown choices. Some stars continue to never disappoint us on the red carpet and others should just fire their stylists.

MY FAVORITES OF THE NIGHT

Sofia Veragara looked gorgeous in her bright red Vera Wang gown.  Sofia knows
what her assets are and has no problem showing them off!

Heidi Klum dazzled onlookers with her shimmering pomegranate Atelier Versace gown.

Carrie Underwood stepped out from the pages of a fairytale book.  She looked
gorgeous in her iridescent purple Romona Keveza gown.

THE WORST DRESSED

I don't know what to say about Lena Dunham's Prada dress.  The picture
speaks for itself.

Julianne Hough's peek-a-boo dress from Jenny Packham might have thrilled some
people but I really didn't care for this look.

Zosia Mamet's gown by Honor is definitely memorable.

THOUGHTS ANYONE?
